Ted Airlines
Ted Airlines is a division of major US carrier United Airlines. The name for Ted Airlines actually comes from the last three letters of the name United. While customers who fly on Ted Airlines experience Ted as a separate entity from United Airlines, United actually wholly owns Ted. Ted does not have its own operating credentials but instead is merely a new brand name for United Airlines. Why Fly Ted Airlines? United Airline’s Ted Airlines was launched as a direct competitor to low cost carrier Frontier Airlines in the American Southwest, and as an indirect competitor to Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airlines. United Airlines was in Chapter 11 bankruptcy for twenty years (they finally emerged in 20060 and needed to find a way to challenge low cost carriers who had come into some of United’s domestic routes, and so Ted Airlines was born. Ted was founded in 2003, but did not begin operating until 2004. Ted’s success was a key factor in United’s recovery from bankruptcy. |

Ted Airline’s hub is in Denver, CO, at the Denver International Airport. Ted flies to destinations in the American Southwest, Florida, and three new destinations in Mexico. Additionally, sometimes Ted planes are used to service United Airlines flights.
Consumers have responded to Ted Airline’s discounted tickets and their approach to branding. Like most budget airlines, Ted planes offer only one class of seating and focus on bringing customers new, tech savvy extras, like satellite TV and radio, and the ability to listen to air traffic control reports as they fly. Ted Airline flights do not offer complementary food and beverage services, but they do offer beverages for purchase, and on longer flights, passengers can purchase United Airlines snack boxes. Ted Airline’s fleet is made up entirely of Airbus A-320 jet engine airplanes. Book Your Flight On Ted Airlines If you want to book a flight on Ted Airlines, you have two options. You can visit Ted’s own home page and book your flight directly though Ted’s reservation service, or if you’re not sure if Ted flies to your destination or not (remember, Ted Airlines serves destinations in the US and Mexico; if you want to go to Paris, you’ll have to go United Airlines), you can try to book your Ted flight on United’s own website. If Ted goes where you’re going, United will let you know. |
